How to turn it on
- Start the call or open the recording app.
- Open Control Center.
- Tap the app's controls, then Mic Mode.
- Choose Voice Isolation. The setting is remembered for that app.
Why it is not working
- The app does not support mic modes. Not every app does.
- Your iOS version is older than the one the feature needs for that app.
- In the Camera, third-party guides report it is greyed out while Spatial Audio recording is on.
Voice Isolation vs cleaning afterwards
Voice Isolation decides in real time, with no second chance. Cleaning afterwards lets you listen, compare and choose a strength. Many people use both: Voice Isolation while recording when possible, and Noise Reducer for recordings that still have noise or were made without it.
Questions and answers
Does Voice Isolation work when recording video?
Apple's page names recording apps on iOS 26. For the Camera, third-party guides report it works on iOS 26 when Spatial Audio is off.
Can Voice Isolation clean an old recording?
